This 2023 Calvary Chapel St. George Israel Tour led by Pastor Jerry Camacho is a 13-day biblical-themed tour of the Holy Land. You’ll explore many of the places you’ve read about in Scripture such as: Jaffa, Caesarea, Mt. Carmel, Sea of Galilee, Megiddo, Jericho, the Mount of Olives, Garden of Gethsemane, Western Wall, along with other cultural sites like Yad Vashem, and the Israel Museum. This is an amazing opportunity to discover the roots of your Christian faith with your congregation.
ITINERARY
DAY 1 – MONDAY, MARCH 6
USA / TEL AVIV
Overnight flight from USA to Tel-Aviv.DAY 2 – TUESDAY, MARCH 7
ARRIVAL / JAFFA / HERZELIYA
Upon arrival at Ben Gurion airport a Coral Travel & Tours representative will greet and assist you. You will also meet your guide and driver and head to Jaffa for a walking tour of the Old City. Jaffa is known in the bible as Joppa and is considered the world’s oldest port and the place where the prophet Jonah set sail for Tarshish. Jaffa is associated with the deeds of Peter. Drive to your hotel in Herzeliya. Dinner and overnight: Hotel in Herzeliya.DAY 3 – WEDNESDAY, MARCH 8
CAESAREA / MOUNT CARMEL / MEGIDDO / CANA
After your Israeli breakfast drive along the Sharon plain to Caesarea. Caesarea was the seat of the Roman Procurator of Judea in the time of Christ and the place Peter converted the centurion Cornelius (Acts 10:24). Explore the Roman theater and the aqueduct and view the ruins of Roman, Byzantine and Crusader times. Continue to Mt. Carmel, to the “Mukhraka,” the site where Elijah challenged and defeated the 450 prophets of Baal (King 18:20). Continue to Megiddo, the Fortress City of King Solomon, later built again by King Ahab. The books of Daniel and Revelation will come alive as we study about the final Battle of Armageddon. Stop at Mount Precipice for an overview of Nazareth. Visit Nazareth Village. Drive through Cana of Galilee to Tiberias. Dinner and overnight: Hotel near the Sea of Galilee.DAY 4 – THURSDAY, MARCH 9
SEA OF GALILEE / CAPERNAUM / KURSI / MAGDALA
This morning visit Capernaum, the town Jesus made his home after leaving Nazareth. Capernaum is the place where Jesus recruited the first of His disciples (Matthew 4:13, Luke 4:31-37, Matthew 8:14- 17, Mark 2:1-12, Matthew 8:5-13, Mark 5:21-43, Matthew 11:23-24). Visit the excavation of the ancient synagogue and the house of the Apostle Peter. Continue to Tabgha, the site of the multiplication. Take a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee. Visit Kibbutz Ginosar to see the ancient boat, from Jesus’ time. Visit the Mt. of Beatitudes, where Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5:1-12). You will also visit Kursi and Magdala. Dinner and Overnight: Hotel near the Sea of Galilee.DAY 5 – FRIDAY, MARCH 10
TEL DAN / CAESAREA PHILIPPI / MT. HERMON / MT. BENTAL
After breakfast drive to Tel Dan, an important biblical city and a breathtaking nature reserve. The bible mentions the city a few times: “From Dan to Beer Sheba”. Continue to Banias, site of ancient Caesarea Philippi. It is here that the Apostle Peter made his confession of faith in Jesus (Matthew 16:13). Continue on to the Valley of Tears and review Israel’s miraculous victory in the Yom Kippur War. From Mt. Bental you will have an overview of the Golan Heights and Syria. End the day at Yardenit with an opportunity to be baptized (optional). Dinner and Overnight: Hotel the Sea of Galilee.DAY 6 – SATURDAY, MARCH 11
GIDEON’S SPRING / JERICHO / QUMRAN / DEAD SEA
Leave the Sea of Galilee and drive to Ein Harod, the site of Judge Gideon (Judges 7: 1-25). Continue through the Jordan Valley with a stop at an overview of Jericho, believed to be the world’s oldest walled city. This was the first city taken by Joshua when the Hebrews returned from Egypt – ‘and the walls fell down.’ It was also the site of the Mount of Temptation (Mark 1:13). Drive along the shores of the Dead Sea to Qumran, where the 2000 years old Dead Sea Scrolls were found. End the day at your hotel located on the Shore of the Dead Sea. Dinner and overnight: Hotel at the Dead Sea.DAY 7 – SUNDAY, MARCH 12
MASADA / EIN GEDI / JERUSALEM / MT. SCOPUS
For those who want to participate, there will be an option to leave the hotel early morning to hike up the Snake Trail of Masada. The rest will depart later and ascend Masada by cable car. Masada is the site of the most dramatic act in Jewish History. Explore the ancient excavation of Herod’s palaces, the bathhouse, the storerooms, the siege ramp, and the oldest synagogue in the world. Continue on to Ein Gedi, an oasis on the Dead Sea shore. Near the 200-meter-high waterfall is a cave where David had his famous meeting with King Saul (1 Samuel 24: 1-23). A walk around the reservation confirms that Ein Gedi is one of the most beautiful nature reserves in the world. Drive to Jerusalem. Enter the city of Jerusalem in the traditional way and view the city from Mt. Scopus. Dinner and overnight: Hotel in Jerusalem.DAY 8 – MONDAY, MARCH 13
JERUSALEM
This morning drive to the western side of the city and visit the Israel Museum, the Shrine of the Book (where some of the Dead Sea Scrolls and Bar Kokhba letters are exhibited) and the Holy Land Model. Then, drive out of Jerusalem to Bet Shemesh and then to the Elah Valley, the site of the battle of David and Goliath. Continue to the Valley of Aijalon where Joshua defeated the Southern kings and the Lord caused the sun to stand still for a day. Your last stop today will be Shepherds’ Fields outside of Bethlehem. Return to Jerusalem. Dinner and overnight: Hotel in Jerusalem.DAY 9 – TUESDAY, MARCH 14
JERUSALEM
After breakfast ascend the Mount of Olives (Matthew 24:3, Luke 21:37) for a breathtaking panoramic view of the Old City of Jerusalem. Walk along the Palm Sunday Way to the Garden of Gethsemane (Matthew 26:36-46, Luke 22:39-45, Mark 14:32-42) where Jesus spent the night before he was arrested. Visit The City of David, Hezekiah’s Tunnel or the Canaanite Tunnel. Visit the Pool of Salome, the Davidson Center, the Southern Wall Steps and Herod’s Palace near the tower of David. Dinner and overnight: Hotel in Jerusalem.DAY 10 – WEDNESDAY, MARCH 15
JERUSALEM / BET SHEMESH / VALLEY OF ELAH / AYALON VALLEY / BETHLEHEM
This morning ascend Mt. Moriah (Luke 2:46-48, John, 8:1-11, Mark 13:1-2, Matthew 27:51). Walk up to the Temple Mount and view the Dome of the Rock and the El Aqsa Mosque. See the Pools of Bethesda. Walk through the Christian Quarter to the Jewish Quarter to the Western Wall, one of last remnants of the second Jewish Temple. You will also visit the Rabbinical Tunnel. At the western side of the city visit Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Museum. Dinner and overnight: Hotel in Jerusalem.DAY 11 – THURSDAY, MARCH 16

After breakfast drive to Mt. Zion and visit the House of the High Priest Caiphas and the Church of Peter in Gallicantu (Matthew 26:31-35). This is the place where Peter denied the Lord 3 times. Continue for a visit to the Upper Room (Mathew 26:17-25). End the day at Golgotha and the Garden Tomb. Farewell dinner. Overnight: Hotel in Jerusalem.DAY 12 – FRIDAY, MARCH 17

Deposits and Payments for the 2023 Calvary Chapel St. George Israel Tour
A deposit of $500.00 is required with each reservation to guarantee booking by November 6, 2022. The balance is due 60 days prior to departure. All checks should be made payable to Coral Travel & Tours, Ltd.
Tour Arrangements
Air – Air arrangements are included in most group tours. Air is available to individual travelers upon request.
Land – All packages including overnight hotel stays are quoted based upon double occupancy sharing a twin or double room with private facilities. Coral Travel & Tours, Ltd. does not arrange sharing for individual travelers. Single rooms are available at additional cost. Coral Travel & Tours, Ltd. reserves the right to substitute hotels based upon availability when necessary. Sightseeing and entrance fees are included as per itinerary. Individual passengers and passengers arriving independently from a scheduled group are responsible for their own transfers.

Gratuities, airport taxes and transfers (unless specifically included in certain group tours), optional tours, charges for passports, vaccinations and inoculations, excess baggage charges, accident, trip cancellation and baggage insurance, telephone and cable charges, laundry, meals not specified in the itinerary, liquor, items of a personal nature and any items not specifically listed as included.

Passports/Visa
You will be required to provide Coral Travel & Tours with a copy of your passport with final payment. Please Note: The State of Israel requires that your passport have an expiration date not less than 6 months after your date of arrival in Israel. There is no visa requirement for citizens of the United States traveling to Israel. Other nationals should contact their consulate for visa information. For other destinations please contact Coral Travel & Tours, Ltd. Coral Travel & Tours does NOT process visa applications. No inoculations are currently required for travel to Israel. Please contact public health authorities for further information or other destinations.
Fuel Surcharge
Please note fuel surcharges are set by the airline and Coral Travel & Tours has no control over nor receives advance notice of changes. Due to fluctuating global oil prices, the fee may change. The airline will only guarantee the fee at time of ticketing. If the airline imposes an increase, the difference will be the responsibility of each traveler and will be collected prior to departure.

Baggage
Suitcases: 1 per person, not to exceed 50 lbs. for 1 bag. Each can measure up to 62 linear inches (length + height + width). Carry On Luggage: 1 per person, not to exceed 11 lbs. Each can measure up to 45 linear inches (length + height + width).
Deviations
Any change in the basic program will result in the charge of $150 per change per person plus any additional charges that may apply for revised air or land arrangements.

In the event it becomes necessary or advisable for any reason whatsoever to alter the arrangements of the itinerary, such alterations may be made without penalty to the operators.
